Standing Against Human Trafficking

In the bustling heart of Tampa Bay, a harsh reality lurks in the shadows. Consistently ranked among the Top 5 cities for reported cases of human trafficking, this area grapples with an insidious crisis. The statistics paint a grim picture: the average age of women entering trafficking is a heartbreaking 12 years old. Worse still, 152 women were turned away in the past year alone due to a lack of capacity in programs, leaving them without the support they desperately need.

But within this darkness, hope emerges through the concerted efforts of The NOMORE Foundation. Our commitment to combating human trafficking is unwavering, fueled by the urgency to rescue victims and transform them into survivors and thrivers.

Collaborating closely with community experts, we’ve devised a strategic plan aimed at bolstering transitional housing capacity through our trusted partners on the ground. This expansion is crucial, ensuring that more victims can be rescued from the clutches of exploitation. We refuse to accept Tampa Bay’s continual presence on the list of top spots for human trafficking. Together, we’re dedicated to rewriting this narrative and ensuring that victims find refuge and support promptly.

At The NOMORE Foundation, our mission goes beyond rescue; it extends to restoration. Guided by the verse from Proverbs 31:8, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves,” we’ve initiated a campaign to renovate a property in Hillsborough County. This facility, operated in collaboration with our partners at Created, will serve as a safe haven for victims rescued from human trafficking in the Tampa Bay Area.

We understand the gravity of these numbers—their weight on our hearts. We believe in action and invite you to join us in making a difference. Whether through volunteering, education, or donations, there’s a place for you to serve those in need. Our plan is strategic, drawing upon the expertise of rescue professionals and frontline transitional ministries to solve this dire problem.

Over the past two decades, our team has remained steadfast in serving trafficking survivors. We’ve impacted over 10,000 lives through education, transitional homes, and rescue efforts. The dedication of over 20,000 volunteer hours underscores our commitment to this cause.

How can you join us in declaring “NOMORE Slavery”? Here are three ways:

  • VOLUNTEER: Sign up for our email list to learn about upcoming service opportunities.
  • HOST A TRAINING: If you have access to a group, let us bring our experts and educational presentations to you.
  • DONATE: Your support is pivotal in enabling rescue missions, transitional programs, service days, and capacity building.

Under the visionary guidance of Dotti Groover-Skipper, a renowned leader in anti-trafficking efforts, we focus on four key areas: Education, Capacity Building, Outreach, and Rescue.

  • EDUCATION: Our training sessions equip communities with vital information and solutions to combat trafficking safely.
  • CAPACITY BUILDING: We’re actively raising funds to add beds and staff to transition programs, preventing the tragic turning away of victims seeking help.
  • OUTREACH: Through volunteer initiatives, we demonstrate love and value to those transitioning or still in vulnerable situations.
  • LOGISTICS SUPPORT: Partnering with law enforcement, we support efforts to locate and rescue women from trafficking, providing essential aid to bring them into transition programs.

Together, from rescue to restoration, let us shine the light of hope into the darkest corners of Tampa Bay. With prayer, unity within the Church, and collaboration with like-minded businesses, we can declare “NOMORE Slavery.” Join us in our fight for a future where freedom reigns supreme for all.
