Turning Love Into Action: RNR Serve Day Brings Much-Needed Support to Single Moms

“I believe God calls us back to growing food, tending the land, and finding Him in His creation. Moms and children will plant, water, and harvest side by side, learning that He still brings new life out of hard ground.”
Motherhood was never intended to be a solo journey. Yet, for many single mothers, the weight of providing for and protecting their children can feel overwhelming. It was out of this place that Stacy Hester founded Solo Moms, an organization working to ensure every mother and child is seen, known, heard, and carried by God, and that complete wholeness and shalom would fill their hearts, homes, and futures.
Declare No More and RNR Tire Express recently had the privilege of serving Solo Moms for their Annual RNR Serve Day. The RNR team has always had a heart for community outreach, making them a perfect partner of Declare No More. For years, RNR has consistently committed to serving the vulnerable in powerful ways – and this year was no exception!

The RNR volunteer team jumped right in to help clean and organize the education room, refresh the sanctuary and playroom, build a new outdoor play area, paint doorways, plant a mini garden, and lay fresh mulch across the grounds. Every project helped create a more welcoming, peaceful, and supportive space for the moms and children who call Solo Moms their community. The education room is where moms learn, grow, and begin to dream again. The sanctuary provides a place for moms to connect with God while their children have space to play nearby. The new play area gives children a safe place to run, laugh, and simply be kids, which is part of how God heals them.

“The garden means the most to me,” Stacy shared. “It’s a first step toward the way of life I believe God calls us back to: growing food, tending the land, and finding Him in His creation. Moms and children will plant, water, and harvest side by side, learning that He still brings new life out of hard ground.”
Perhaps the most moving aspect of the event was the heart the RNR team brought. They didn’t come to check off a list. They came to love people. Every coat of paint, every shovel of mulch, and every seed planted was an act of love, preparing a place where moms and children will encounter healing through Jesus. For mothers who have walked through difficult seasons, entering a beautiful space like this is a powerful display of how God sees them and cares so deeply for them and their children.

This serve day was an important reminder that none of us carry this work alone. God sends His people to carry it with us. Community in Jesus changes everything, and when God’s people show up for one another – side by side with hands in the soil – healing begins.
